Mat is of Italian descent and is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is the older brother of fellow band member Jason. Before joining Skanky Broz, Mat was a fitness coach, personal trainer and fit model. Unlike the other members of the band, he had no prior experience in the adult entertainment or sex work industry. He is often considered to be the most reserved member of the band. Before joining the band, Mat was engaged to be married to his fiancé back in Philadelphia. Mat was recruited to join the band by his younger brother Jason, after founding member, Evan left the group before the release of their debut album "Male Popstitution". Eden gave him the name "Ethan". Justin from the band, who never had a brother growing up, developed a big crush on Ethan, which Ethan had no problem with, but it created some jealously and sibling rivalry with Jason. After his one album contract was fulfilled, and after promotion for "Male Popstitution" had wrapped, Ethan decided to leave the band in order to spend more time with his fiancé. This opened up a spot for Evan to return to the group, in time for their second album "2nd Cuming".

After Ethan replaced Evan, he became the oldest member of the band. Being the older brother or Jason and the "Big Brother" archetype of the group, he has earned him the nickname "Big Bro".
